Strategic Business Partnerships is a business consulting and coaching company founded in 2012 by Patricia Newby. Over the past twelve years, the company has worked with business owners to build infrastructure, develop leadership skills, improve profitability, secure funding, develop strategies and execute action plans to achieve their goals. Creating value in an environment of open and honest communication is the foundation on which Strategic Business Partnerships was built. Ms. Newby’s passion for business and operational excellence is the driving force for equipping business owners with best business practices, effective tools and the encouragement to realize their dreams and build profitable and sustainable businesses. Patricia serves as an accountability partner, designing practical strategies and action plans specific to each client’s needs and working with them to achieve their goals.

Meet Patricia A. Newby
Patricia Newby is an executive leader with 35 years of experience in the aerospace and defense industry. Her career spanned both domestic and international programs in fields ranging from international air traffic control to communications to airborne and ground based radar systems. She has extensive experience in managing all aspects of a business/site. She possesses expertise in profit and loss management, program management, financial management, strategic planning and technical and administrative management. Ms. Newby is skilled in change management and the turnaround of challenged/struggling businesses. One of the highlights of her career was the turnaround of a struggling subsidiary, doubling revenue and growing profits double digits. This experience provided the foundation for her winning formula for running successful businesses and the launch of Strategic Business Partnerships.
Retiring from Northrop Grumman in 2011 as Vice President, Programs- Weapons and Sensors, Patricia Newby is the president and founder of Strategic Business Partnerships, a business coaching and consulting company working with business owners and corporate leaders in the areas of business planning, strategic planning and leadership development. Her vision is to create a support system enabling small and mid-size businesses to survive and thrive. And for business owners and corporate/organization leaders to use their unique leadership style to build great teams and create winning cultures.
Ms. Newby received a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and MBA in Management from Loyola University in Maryland. She completed the General Manager Program at Harvard Business School, the Northrop Grumman Financial Management Program at Wharton Business School and the UCLA Anderson School of Management African-American Leadership Institute.
Ms. Newby was a recipient of the President's Award at The Women of Color Technology Awards Conference in 2004 and was recognized as one of the top 50 Blacks in Technology by U.S. Black Engineer Magazine in 2005. In 2006 and 2008, Ms. Newby was recognized as one of the top 100 Blacks in Technology.
Patricia has always been passionate about giving back to her community and helping others to be their best selves. Throughout her career, she has mentored high school students and professional women. She was one of the founders of and served as President of the African American Task Group, an Employee Resource Group at Northrop Grumman, and as the Executive Sponsor for the Women’s Initiative for Networking and Success. Patricia was an avid supporter of the National Action Council for Minorities in Engineering (NACME) and served as the Board Liaison to NACME for Northrop Grumman’s CEO. She also served as a member of the Advisory Board for the National Academy Foundation High School’s Academy of Engineering in Baltimore City. In October 2017, Ms. Newby completed nine years of service as a Board Member of the Coppin State University Development Foundation where she served for three years as the Secretary of the Executive Committee and two years as the Chair of the Governance Committee. In February 2018, she was elected to the Board of Trustees for the Baltimore Museum of Industry where she served until May 2019.
